Emergency Planning for Older Pennsylvanians

Older adults may have unique needs in the event of an emergency or natural disaster. Learn more about how to prepare for emergencies.

Some individuals may require special planning in advance of an emergency to ensure all needs are met. Contact your local law enforcement agency to inquire about a Special Needs Registry - a volunteer registry of information for those with a mental, intellectual, or physical disability that would be helpful for emergency personnel to know when responding to a crisis. The registry will be kept confidential and only made available to emergency response personnel during a major disaster.
